About Lincoln Oaks Golf Course
A classic Tom Bendelow design (Bendelow designed Medinah and Olympia Fields South among some 600 other courses) from 1927, Lincoln Oaks Golf Course in the southern Chicago suburb of Crete is a fine example of a challenging, classic course.
Perhaps a shade short, by today's grip it and rip it standards, the course lays out to a par 71 measuring roughly 6,200 yards. Lincoln Oaks has a rating of 68.1 and a slope of 118. It's a beautiful, fun course with bent grass fairways and mature trees lining the fairways.
With three sets of tees, Lincoln Oaks gives golfers of all skill levels an opportunity to play a classic, traditional style course and do it at quite a solid value.
For the Lincoln Oaks Golf Course virtual golf course tour we start with the par 5, 495 yard (362 from the forward red tees), Hole #14. If you go too long for the green, beware, there's water waiting just behind it. There's also water intruding into the main fairway. We then move to the par 3, 162 yard (109 from the forward red tees) of Hole #15 and we finish with the par 4, 365 yards (245 from the red) of Hole #18.
Then it's off to the classic, intimate clubhouse for a cold one and a sandwich.
