About Seven Bridges Golf Club

Watch the "Why Play Here" video for Seven Bridges Golf Club in Woodridge, Illinois

Seven Bridges Golf Club in the western Chicago suburb of Woodridge, Illinois, has a well deserved reputation as one of Chicagoland's finest courses. The course, which was built in 1991 has matured over the years into a very pretty and very challenging test of a golf course.

Seven Bridges Golf Club features six sets of tees, which make it a fair challenge for all levels of golfers. Water, which plays a huge part in the course's defense, is often a much more manageable thing when taken from the forward most tees. Scratch golfers will face a solid challenge that places a premium on accuracy and shot selection.

For the serious golfer, playing from the back tees, the Dick Nugent designed Seven Bridges measures out at 7,103 yards with a slope rating of 135. For those of more average skills, choose the middle tees which bring the course down to 6,278 yards and a 126 slope.

As for the 18 holes that make up Seven Bridges Golf Club, it's really a pair of contrasting nines. The front nine goes by the name of Helios and features such romantic hole names as Serenity, Beachcomber and Tranquility. The front nine is very much a parkland course, which begins to give you a sense of what's coming with the challenges of holes seven, eight and nine. The course begins with a rolling par 5, hole #1 which measures a solid 531 yards.

While the front nine is certainly challenging, it's the back nine that most golfers will talk about long after the round is over. The story on the back nine is water. These nine holes are know, for obvious reasons, as Poseidon. Holes ten through twelve are particularly challenging and known as the Bermuda Triangle. Many consider the par 4, 441 yard 16th hole, the aptly named Maelstrom, one of the toughest par 4's in the greater Chicagoland area. The final two holes will ease up on you a bit and give you a chance to get into the clubhouse feeling a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. If you enjoy playing over the water, you'll love the back nine at Seven Bridges.

What about the rest of the story? Well, the amenities at Seven Bridges Golf Club are nothing if not first rate. The Dock, one of the best 19th holes around, lets golfers unwind and relive the day's pains and pleasures with a cool beverage outside. The Pro Shop is exceptionally well stocked and the staff, from Director of Golf Autumn Gilliam on down are very attentive and eager to make your Seven Bridges experience a great one.

As for practice facilities, while there is no driving range there is a great warm up hitting bay, two chipping areas to sharpen up that stroke and a beautiful, large putting green that accurately mirrors what you'll encounter on the course.

The golf carts at Seven Bridges Golf Club are equipped with state-of-the-art GPS technology that makes it a whole lot easier to size up a tough shot.

We've got the par 5, 531 yard Hole #1, the par 3, 183 yard Hole #6 and the Maelstrom. the par 4, 441 yard Hole #16 on the Look Around Golf Golf Course Directory and Virtual Golf Course Tour. To see the Seven Bridges Golf Club virtual golf course tour, simply click on the golf course photo above.
