About Minne Monesse
Tucked away in the Illinois farmland of Grant Park in Kankakee County is a gem of a course called Minne Monesse. One of those places that is certainly worth the trip and a must play if you're in the Bourbonnais , Illinois area.
Minne Monesse is gorgeous and classic, having been built in 1926. Old oak trees and some serious elevation changes on it's rolling hills along with water coming into play on eleven holes makes for not only a wonderful day of golf, but a wonderful day in the outdoors.
With four sets of tees, Minne Monesse gives golfers of all skill levels a challenge. The course lays out from its back tees to 6,506 yards with a rating of 71.1 and a slope of 123.
Along with the great golf, you'll also meet some of the friendliest people to staff a golf course. The Hurley family owns Minne Monesse and they really go out of their way to provide a first class experience whether for an outing or a foursome. The clubhouse bar and dining area is a favorite of ours. Sit down at the long bar and enjoy a panoramic view of the course and a cold beverage after the day's golf. Great food is also part of the experience.
For the Minne Monesse virtual golf course tour, we start on the elevated tees of the par 5, 480 yard (390 yards from the forward red tees) of Hole #4. There's huge oaks lining the fairway and water intrudes on either side about midway. The green is sitting slightly uphill and is guarded by surrounding bunkers.
Next up is the par 4, 260 yard (225 yards from the red tees), Hole #7. With water close to the green, this ones a temptation for big hitters.
We close the tour with the par 5, 500 yard
(435 from the forward tees) of
Hole #16. This one is long and straight with a tight fairway. You'll have to make a choice as to carrying over the creek from the elevated tee boxes.
