About Indian Wells Golf Resort

Indian Wells Golf Resort in Indian Wells, California (about 20 minutes from Palm Springs International Airport) is one of Southern California's premier golf destinations. And, in the crowded golf marketplace of Southern California, a region that features some of the very finest golf courses in the country, that really is saying something.

Indian Wells features two 18 hole courses ranked in the Top 20 "Best Courses You Can Play" in California by Golfweek Magazine. Let's take a look at both of these superb desert courses.

The Celebrity Course, designed by Clive Clark, opened in 2006 and was the site, in 2007 of the 25th Anniversary LG Skins Game. The Celebrity Course gives golfers stunning mountain views, split-level lakes, waterfalls, streams and brooks along with very challenging golf for all levels of golfers from any of its five sets of tees.

From the back championship tees, the Celebrity Course at Indian Wells measurers out to 7,050 yards for a par of 72 with a rating of 74.2 and a slope of 138. From the middle white tees, the course lays out to 6,029 yards with a rating of 69.9 and a slope of 124. From the red tees, the Clive Clark's design measures to 5,316 yards. The Player's Course at Indian Wells Golf Resort combines the feel of a classic, older facility with a totally modern approach to golf course design. In many ways the course reminds one of the Dr. Alistair Mackenzie Australian golf courses near Melbourne. The course, was opened in 2007 and was designed by John Fought. The course delivers amazing views of the surrounding mountain ranges.

From the back championship tees, the Player's Course at Indian Wells lays out to 7,326 yards for a par of 72, with a rating of 75.3 and a slope of 139. From the middle white tees the distance recedes to 6,316 yards, a rating of 70.6 and a slope of 134. From the red tees, The Player's Course is 5,108 yards with a rating of 71.3 and a slope of 122.

For the Player's Course virtual golf course tour we start with the par 4, 459 yard, Hole #6, move to the par 3, 146 yard, Hole #17 and finish with the par 4, 491 yard, Hole #18. To view the virtual golf course tour, click on the Player's Course photo above.

Along with the challenging and rewarding golf on the two great courses, Indian Wells Golf Resort gives golfers so much more both in golf and relaxation. There's also a "putting course", a lighted, natural grass, 9-hole putting course designed by Player's Course architect, John Fought. It's a great way to relax a little while you sharpen your game.

Then there's the Callaway Performance Center where you can check out the latest Callaway Golf clubs and get custom fitted for the right clubs for not only your body type, but your swing as well. For golfers from beginner to pro, this high tech facility is the place to really dial in the perfect set of clubs.

Then there's the Indian Wells Club. 53,000 square feet of clubhouse offering a full line of upscale amenities you would expect from a world class resort including fabulous spa and massage experiences.

Indian Wells Golf Resort is an absolutely stunning and beautiful facility surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. It's a short walk from the four surrounding luxury hotels and as such, is a great choice for a total golf resort experience or as an essential stop on any Southern California Desert golf tour.
