Pine Meadow Golf Course in the northwest Chicago suburb of Mundelien, Illinois has a rich history to go along with it’s many contemporary honors. This 18 hole public course is widely known to be a demanding, but fair test for golfers of all skill levels.
Beautiful, old oaks and tall blue spruce line the heavily wooded course. Along with the ponds, lakes and creeks, they make Pine Meadow a particularly scenic and serene day of golf. The original course was designed by William Flynn, who also created the Glen View Club and the Mill Road Farm Course. Leased from the Archdiocese of Chicago in 1985 by Joe and Frank Jemsek, the course was remodeled by golf course designers Joe Lee, Rocky Roquemore and Joe T. Jemsek. After a substantial investment, Pine Meadow Golf Course was opened to the public in 1986 and to accolades from the golfing world.
And it’s really no wonder, the course is a beauty and a challenge. With five sets of tees, Pine Meadow gives golfers of all skill levels the opportunity to enjoy its 18 holes. The yardage from the back tees is 7,238 and the course has a rating of 74.8 and a slope of 138. Along with over 85 sand bunkers and 3 grass bunkers, Pine Meadow Golf Course features plenty of water hazards to challenge the shot making skill of the best scratch golfers.
When it opened in 1986, Pine Meadow Golf Course was heralded as America’s Best New Public Golf Course by Golf Digest magazine and the accolades haven’t stopped.In 2004 irt was rated “Extraordinary” as voted by players in an ESPN and Zagat survey. 2006 through 2008 Pine Meadow has been rated one of the Top 25 Courses in Illinois.
But honors aside, Pine Meadow Golf Course in Mundelien, Illinois delivers what golfers want… a great golf experience in a very beautiful, natural setting.
